Our Ingredients

(and the nasty ingredients we leave out)

Many people do not realize how many toxins can be in candles. Brands are not required to disclose what specifically their ingredients are made of - particularly what is in their fragrance. We at Santa’s Naturals want to be fully transparent with our customers. On the bottom of your candle tin you’ll find a few ingredients listed: Soy Wax, Beeswax, Essential Oils, Fragrance Oils, and a Cotton Wick.

First up: Soy Wax & Beeswax

Santa’s Naturals uses a natural wax blend of soy wax and beeswax. Our beeswax is sourced in partnership with Koster Keunen due to their environmental and social governance standards.  The wax is processed in a facility that uses solar energy and only recycled water. With this partnership we also support ethical jobs with living wages for individuals in West Africa which contributes to local economic growth of these communities.

What’s NOT in our candles:  Paraffin Wax, which is a petroleum based wax.

The Pièce de Résistance: Essential Oils & Fine Fragrance Oils

Santa’s Naturals uses a combination of essential oils and fragrance oils to fragrance our candles. We partner with Candle Science, a fellow NC native, that focuses on making “clean scents” without any toxic ingredients. See their rigorous standards for sourcing here

What’s NOT in our candles: Phalates, common in fragrance oils.

The Finishing Touch: Cotton Wick

Santa’s Naturals uses an natural cotton  wick, with either a paper core or a cotton core.
What’s NOT in our candles: Any metal, like zinc or lead which when burnt emit unknown elements into the air.
